Community emergency communication
The key to successful emergency management is communication. Outdoor LED signs offer a versatile and reliable rapid response communication medium allowing messages to be delivered 24/7 – either scheduled in advance or in real-time as required.
Outdoor LED (Light Emitting Diode) signs are becoming increasingly popular because they are one of the only electronic display technologies that remain clearly visible in direct sunlight. This coupled with technology improvements and cost reductions have meant that outdoor LED signs are now becoming a very affordable medium with a growing range of applications.
Though early adopters have used outdoor LED signage primarily for advertising, the importance of conveying emergency and other relevant information cannot be overlooked. In fact as outdoor LED signs become more prevalent, they will become a natural part of any cityscape.
Outdoor LED signs can be used in many ways to improve communication with the community; highlight initiatives, upcoming events, create community spirit by broadcasting achievements, general notices, and most importantly ensure the local community is kept informed with up to the minute information during emergencies such as fire danger levels, road closures, assembly points and danger zones.
Outdoor LED signs are available in a range of configurations including a variety of sizes, resolutions and LED colour combinations (mono, tri-couloured or full colour video). They are also available as single or double sided signs and can be built to either indoor or outdoor specifications.
The LED panels are housed in a robust aluminium enclosure with front service access as standard. Outdoor LED signs are highly visible over long distances featuring ultra bright LED’s with sun shades over each pixel. A replaceable impact resistant polycarbonate screen overlay makes the enclosure extremely vandal resistant.
Outdoor LED signs can be easily updated from the comfort of your desk using PC based software via an existing wired or wireless network. Messages can be delivered to a network of strategically placed signs all at once or individual messages can be sent to individual signs. Outdoor LED signs also feature automatic night-time dimming, a real-time clock and temperature sensor so that the current time and temperature can be displayed. The software allows for various character heights, graphics and full moving video, built in scheduling and even an event countdown timer.
Outdoor LED signs can be wall, ceiling or pole mounted almost anywhere; out the front of community buildings such as council offices, depots, libraries, visitor information centres, community centres, swimming pools; fire stations and public halls or within the confines of parks, green spaces and other public areas.
